Alternator Bosch or AC DELCO
I installed a Bosch re-manufactured unit. Under $200. It has a 24 month warranty and roadside assistance included.
Aftermarket units from Bosch and other are about $300.
The most expensive one at Rock is a Bosch for $186.79+ core.
I had the AC Delco alternator (an OEM part) in my 1994 Saturn SL2 rebuilt in 2015 by Alternator & Starter Co. At the time, no new OEM or aftermarket alternators were available for a Saturn that old, and the guru who advised me on Saturn repairs told me I would have better luck with a local rebuild rather than a commercially remanufactured replacement.
I'm showing a new acdelco 135amp alternator for roughly $163 plus shipping through rockauto.
Acdelco is oem for GM. They make high-quality parts, never been disappointed by one.
Mine went out at like 105k swapped out a Bosch immediately but if not always go with denso.
I have replaced my alternator with a good "?" Bosch alternator and it charged for 3 days but now the battery light is on until the motor is above 2500 rpm
i had an equinox do that to me. Kept eating alternators. They were new AC Delco ones too. I just got a used OEM one and has been fine.
Everything went well, or so we thought, as he turned on the car it started to slowly smoke. I assume that the ac compressor plug got shorted or was loosely plug bc it was the hardest thing to replug and the fact the ac isn’t blowing cold air anymore. We recharged the battery to 12.4-12.5 v. The alternator was only pulling 13.3-13.7 v with load and without load. Mind you this was a new OES Bosch alternator.
supplier willing to give me a Bosch remanufactured alternator (as good faith) to compare. after installation on Bosch, the result is worse than the Denso (output at alternator at 12.5V)
