Deka Battery

Deka batteries are still good quality. They are somewhat harder to find than other brands.

Pros: good quality

Deka Battery

Fall 2016 Update: I just installed a new battery. It is a Deka Group 47 AGM. Cost was about 135$ at Battery Mart, 20$ more than the standard battery the store offered. It is odd in that the carry handle is square to the battery length. The specs say it weights 37-1/2 lbs. 600 CCA at 0 F. Two minor things: The battery foot flange is not thick enough to match the battery holding channel or the holding clamp. Some sort of wedge needs to be used. There are probably height adapters or spacers sold for that. Second, the hood release cable will need to run on top of the battery corner, unless you slide the battery out toward the radiator more than I want to.

Pros: 600 CCA at 0 F
Cons: wedge needs to be used

Deka Battery

I just ordered a Deka EXT20L, from what ive read everyone loves it. At $87 from Lowes its worth the gamble. Its a sealed AGM battery so it can be mounted anywhere, ill be putting it under the rear seat.

Pros: everyone loves it, sealed AGM
Part number: EXT20L

AC DELCO Battery

Currently I have ac delco batteries in every car I own. I work at a Cadillac dealership though so I get good prices on them and they're good batteries.

Pros: good batteries, good prices

Deka Battery

I have personal experience with with both battery technology and the litium ones put the conventional small battery to shame. If I left my car with the small Deka that's in it for a few weeks without starting, or turning off the cut-off switch, the alarm and small draw I have from a wacky door switch would completely drain it.

Pros: lithium ones better
Cons: drains quickly

The old battery I had in mine was an AC Delco, model ACD41-60 (I'm guessing size 41, 60-month warranty). Sticker said 685 CCA, 330 for charge. It's raining outside right now and I don't have any pictures of the sticker for my current one. The Delco battery finally died after being 8 years old. It showed signs of aging and being weak for about 3 months before that, and then one of the cells shorted out, so it had about a 5-amp capacity.

Pros: long life, high CCA
Cons: showed signs of aging
Part number: ACD41-60

Deka Battery

Me too. Using a Deka ETX20 right now. Scooped it for $85 shipped from Tri-State Battery. I just got my car back on the road, so I haven't seen how well it holds its charge without running the car every day though.

Part number: ETX20

  • Cranking:

In March of this year I replaced my battery for 98 Civic Ex with an autozone Ac Delco one. With the colder days I started to notice slower cranks if the car had been sitting a day or longer.

Cons: slower cranks in cold
Vehicle: Honda Civic
