Oil filter AC DELCO or OEM Toyota
It’s a reliable brand. Any major oil brand should work well, as long as you stick to reputable names. I have my oil changed elsewhere and use different brands with no issues or noticeable difference between them, but I always make sure to buy the original oil filter directly from Toyota in advance.
I did my FJ’s oil change for the first time myself a few weeks ago. All the aftermarket filters seem to not be as good as OEM, and they cost more. Got mine from the dealer, with the gasket, for under $9
For oil, if you are changing your oil earlier than the OEM recommended oil change interval of 10k mi / 12 mo, then feel free to use the cheapest GF-6B API-SP certified oil of whatever type it says on your oil cap, along with a Toyota OEM filter, which is almost always cheapest to buy at the dealership's parts counter.
Running toyota filter.
Ac Delco is the obvious choice for oil n fuel filter
I will never use any oil filter that is not OE/OEM.
AC Delco in the D-max.
AC Delco OEM filter is all I have used on my GM trucks in a long time.
I tend to lean dealership if I don't do it myself. I have gone a couple of those places before and I damn near have to break out the screw driver to get the oil filter off.
I got an ACdelco oil filter for a 07 classic GMC duramax and right before installing it I noticed the threads were stripped off and there were big chunks metal shavings clipped off inside it.
I couldn't do my own oil change last time since the weather was pretty bad and I was long over due. Brought it to Toyota of Bellevue, they had overtighten the oil filter to the point where I had to punch a screwdriver through it to get it out when I did my own change. Wouldn't want to take my car there again.
