NGK Spark plug

At 101k miles I recommend that maintenance package if it hasn\u2019t been done before and you\u2019re not mechanically include. Spark plugs were $80 for NGK plugs and I have diag tools + experience to inspect my own so cost is $100.

Pros: NGK plugs, diag tools
Mileage: 162544 km

NGK Spark plug

I picked up a set of new VW Atlas sparkplugs of FB MKTplace locally for a good price and before I tossed them in one of my cars I decided to verify all of the spark plug differences and to reserve the research here are my results:

NGK Spark plug

I have mentioned numerous times here to remove Torch plugs and replace. One would not run fresh out of the box (WEN). Replaced it with an NGK and it's been purring ever since.

Pros: engine runs smoothly
Cons: engine would not run

NGK Spark plug

If I had a choice between a resistor type NGK plug and a non-resistor Torch, I'd take the NGK in a heartbeat.

Pros: reduces radio interference
Cons: fires a little less

NGK Spark plug

I'm running NGK Iridium NGK LTR71X-II 1 step colder but I am tuned. Been running these sparkplugs since the car had 5000 km. I have 45000 km now in 8 years and a half and I have changed 3 sets as it is recommended to change them a bit sooner than 30000 km on a tuned car.

Cons: shorter lifespan on tuned car
Mileage: 45000 km
Part number: LTR71X-II

NGK Spark plug

That gap is INSANE, or at least appears to be.

In case you were wondering why those plugs look different, that plug on the left you’ve chosen (BKR5EIX11) is a plug that doesn’t match the longevity characteristics that Nissan originally set. The electrode basically isn’t designed to last as long.

Cons: electrode not designed to last
Vehicle: Nissan Maxima
Part number: BKR5EIX11
