Best Oil filter for Hyundai Elantra
OEM Hyundai oil filters have a better anti-drainback valve than aftermarket filters, and they're cheap enough to use every time you change your oil. While I've used Mobil 1, Wix, and K&N oil filters on my other vehicles, my Elantra GT ONLY gets OEM filters. Personally, I wouldn't switch to aftermarket.

Here's the solution : your cam shaft position sensor is overheating and trying to save the engine by shutting it off prematurely instead of forcing limp mode. The fix is to use a Hyundai OEM oil filter, and check the gaskets/seals, then replace the cam sensor and crank sensor. I did this and never had a problem again.

I'd change the oil and filter with a Hyundai filter. Oil doesn't matter so much. These engines are very temperamental when it comes to the filters as they get higher in mileage.

They overfilled my Elantra Sport one time by two quarts but it's okay because they didn't tighten the oil filter down so it leaked out all over the place. I caught it quickly so no damage done.
