Also the original equipment Bosch battery that came in my wife's 2006 TDI Golf when we bought it in 2015. The good ones aren't available anymore by the time they wear out.
Lucky for us, the Alternator was in fact faulty (it was a Bosch btw) and that the previous owner replaced it a few months prior, meaning it was still under warranty.
Just changed mine out to Bosch Icons. You need the OE, not A or B. Ours are 16mm, not 19mm.
I've used the cheapo Wearever rotors/pads from autoparts stores, and the Bosch Quietcast. Hands-down, as long as I can afford it, I will be using QuietCast if it's available.
I put Bosch icon 24”& 19” on my 2019 jetta gli and they are absolutely amazing definitely recommend a little pricey but definitely worth it Super smooth and quiet and wipes great
Bosch’s are always great on VW’s. When I picked up my GLI the first thing I noticed was the unbearable squeaking of the wipers with every pass. They also were terrible at keeping the windshield clear even at max speed.
Bosch is a great aftermarket option.
Getting new wipers (Bosch) solved the problem for me.
I pulled the alternator to have it tested at o'reillys. Test showed it was dead so I bought a reman'd Bosch, but still needed a jump. Car fired up right away, but the voltage gauge still read low and just slowly dropped until the car died again.
Put the correct spark plugs in there (NGK BKUR6ET-10 for AEG), throw those Bosch +4 turds in the bin where they belong.
