Wipe quality:

The wiper blades that came on my car (used) looked a lot like the Bosch A582S AeroTwin set available from many sellers on eBay. Just bought a new set myself, waiting for delivery. Between then and now, I've used Rain-X wipers. An older style didn't fit properly but the Latitude does work and fits properly, though doesn't look as nice as the Bosch set which is actually relatively inexpensive. I would recommend finding the A582S set.

Belated follow up. I replaced the plug at the distributer as the signal from the hall sender was intermittent. Brand new Bosch plugs were had for cheap.

Pros: cheap, brand new

Cons: intermittent signal

FYI I went with the Bosch 96R. It weights about 34 lbs and fits no problem although I did need to add a small wedge on top of the bottom lip to lock it down with the stock mount. It has a 3 year free replacement warranty and cost me just about $87 OTD @ PepBoys after turning in my $15 core. It's been more than a year and the battery has been rock solid with very little use.

Pros: rock solid, good warranty

Cons: needed small wedge

So, after a fun summer and fall of some great worry free driving something came up.... it wouldn't start properly. So naturally I took the battery to advanced auto parts to test it, it worked fine and passed, then tested the starter, and was reading a bit slow, can't quite remember the cranking speed but it was in the low 100's RPM. So after days of having to pop start the car, yes I know.... poor clutch! I got a brand new REMAN Bosch starter, and installed it. For the next two days it started just fine

So I grab a new ignition coil, and a full set (4) of spark plugs. The Pre-gapped BOSCH Iridium plugs were the same price as OEM platinum, so I figured that's fine for me.

After pulling the plugs, Cylinder 1 plug was definitely eroded. The other 3 plugs looked fine, but I might as well replace the lot. The new Ignition Coil went into Cylinder 1 as well, and I started it up.

Check engine light went off, starts up fine, drives fine, idles fine.

Pros: starts fine, drives fine

Cons: cylinder 1 plug eroded

oil changed and one new Bosche oil filter later the car now has total oil pressure and runs great.

My Lucas 18ACR (43 Amp) died shortly after I installed a big electric fan (I moved to Texas and felt it was a good idea), so decided to go with a higher output Bosch. I got tired of searching the parts shops (Advance Auto etc.) for a reconditioned Bosch that might or might not fit... In the end, I took my Lucas to an alternator shop and asked for a Bosch that would fit without modifications.

Pros: fit without modifications

Cons: searching parts shops

New Bosch installed Thanks for your help. It was in fact the alternator. Had a NEW Bosch installed by M&M Auto/Cycle in Jersey . Mikes the man when it comes to TDI service.

Pros: Alternator fixed the issue
