Mobil 1 AFE 0W-30 is what they used at the dealership and I’ve read a bunch of other people use it. I use it. Supposedly better than the mopar one.
Mobil1 or Pennzoil is what I use I got my car since 2019 no oil leaks no problems
To give you perspective, I do my own oil change for $37 (full synthetic mobile one + filter)
10 quarts of Mobil1 and a Motorcraft oil filter, FL-500s. A lot of the you ger generation love the new Pennzoil Platinum Ultra full syn, but to each their own. I change mine religiously at 5k on my '20 GT, I'm up to 20k miles, it's has the tick but it's sporadic and hardly noticeable to me.
I can get 5 quarts of Pennzoil Platinum Full Synthetic at Walmart for $24 and a Fram Ultra Synthetic Oil filter for $11 ($12 for Mobil1 Extended Performance). So, $35 for a change plus Walmart's Tire and Lube will take the used oil (so will all part stores by me).
5 qt jug of M1 and a wix filter runs me just under $30 for most vehicles, and the oil is better than the conventional bulk crap most oil changes places use.
if you buy oil from Walmart, 5qt of mobil 1 or similar is well under $30. i buy the Mazda OEM filter/washer combos in a pack of 5 for like $6 per filter. so my oil change is around $34 (plus $10 for a bottle of techron) and i know i didn’t fuck it up.
My changes have generally been religious at 5k and that didn’t save my GTI from losing compression in cyl3 at 37k untuned miles it suffered 15% leakdown vs the other 3. That car got M1 0w-40, tried and true stuff, so you just never know.
I tried Mobil 1 in a Vortec 5.7. That engine did not use oil using Castrol or even Walmart dino oil. IT did use a quart at 1000 miles using 15-40 maybe it was 15-50 Mobil 1.
