Turns out it was the starter, sometimes it didn't engage and when it did is didn't disengage

I know I can do a Volvo 3.0GS in about 10 min. Cause I’ve had so many starter issues.

Pros: quick replacement

2005 Volvo S40 T5 with the 6 speed...the starter would spin without catching 50% of the time.
