We just put Michelin Pilot Sport 4 all-seasons on our 2022 SEL. Range loss is about 10-15%, highway is worse than around town. Huge improvement in handling and especially wet traction makes it worth it with the winter rains (hopefully) coming.
Owner reviews for tires
I have a 2020 Kona SEL and replaced my Nexens with BF Goodrich 215s about six weeks ago and thought I would share my range difference after I got to try them out for my Thanksgiving road trip. I observed about 11% range lost in town driving and 8% range lost in highway driving with the new tires. I think it's well worth it to not feel like you are going to die every time it rains though haha.
Just gave the Weatherpeaks a solid test in snow and ice on a road trip through Seattle and Oregon. On my 2021 CX-5 Signature they performed quite well.
Yes, GP5000s are one of the best all around tubeless tires. Good luck finding 32s in stock, been looking for a whole year and NO ONE has them.
The grip is very good (GP5000s might be marginally better), and they are pretty supple tires so they are comfortable
Nokian is better on Snow and ice, less tread life
Michelin is better on wet and dry, but still decent in snow, better tread life
Have a look at the Bridgestone Weatherpeak as well, better tread life and easily comparable to the Nokian in snow and ice.
Interesting.
The tread on these looks a lot like my wildpeak at trail tires in the us. Nothing but good things to say about those in pretty much every condition, so maybe worth a try.
The Nokian Nordman are great aswell, would argue they are bit better than new Hakkas when there is wet snow on the road (ice and compacted snow, both great).
Kenda Bearclaw HTRs are some of the longest lasting tires out there.
Buy the best you can afford, but name brand can be deceiving. IMO both Goodyear and Firestone are lower tier brands.
I was in a prius with michelin defenders on rt90 in MA during a rainstorm at 65 with cruise control when the front wheels just spun out, lost traction
