The General Gmax AS-05's perform extremely well. The Michelin's are still top dog don't get me wrong, they have better braking, lateral grip, as well as wet grip, but if you want 95% of the the AS 3+'s and save (usually) a couple hundred dollars on a new set of tires the AS-05's are my pick.
Anyone here running Federal 595s? I’m using them on my Focus ST. In case you’re looking for a great low price tire, id give the 595s a try. Mine handle great in warmth and on rain it’s pretty decent if you’re not flooring it from a slow speed. We’re past snow now and in snow they handled okay as well. Overall, great tire for the price.
I have the Zeons on my MZ3 right now and I have no complaints about them. My last set wore out pretty gracefully. But bang for your buck is definitely there with these.
I'm on my second set of those exact Coopers on my Mitsubishi Lancer sportback. They've been great. I got 50k miles out of the first set with no issues.
I have 315/35/20 NT05 on the rear of my challenger 392 widebody, and it's been raining a ton in California lately. Surprisingly, they have been totally fine in the rain.
I had the DWS on my last car and they were *fantastic*. Highly recommended.
I just got some DWS06's last week and so far they are fantastic. I had contiprocontacts on before.
I swapped my OEM tires for summer tires (Kumho Ecsta PS31), they provide much more grip and are a bit quieter though since they aren't LRR (Low Rolling Resistance) I do lose about 10% on range.
I've the ProContract Tx as stock, and they are quiet on everyday surfaces, both at city and highway speeds. Ride is compliant and soft, but not squishy. However once they are on concrete highways, the road noise ruins it all.
Hakkapeliittas are super wobbly, I can't recommend those to people anyways.
