Nexen like all brands make different levels of tires. If you decide to buy the cheap ones your results will be indeed be bad. I bought a nicer tire that they make and have had no issues with them. It's actually the best ride quality I've had in my car. They drive better than Dunlop and Pirrelli P-Zero I had in the past.

I’ve been happy with the Michelin Cross Climate 2s.
i got almost 6 years out of my goodyear assurance. little louder road noise, but i feel safe with them. towards the last few months of the old tires i could feel them slipping a little if i went over anything like sand, losing traction at startup, etc.
I went with a high rolling resistance tire that I find works well in wet weather and mountain roads , Continental pure contact LS.
I put the Quatrac Pro tires on our Model Y about 8,000 miles ago and have been very happy with them. No noticeable difference in road noise, basically no efficiency difference, but much better grip in wet and slick conditions.
The continentals hands down. I’ve them and they performed incredibly. I have the Pilots on my Civic type r and they could be better
I have Vrederstein hitrac all season on my sienna, used it for 8k miles, so far so good. I do notice my mpg is lower by 1-2mpg though.
Original tires replaced @ \~25,000mi. I've got Falkens on them. To be honest, they're fine. Road noise is unobtrusive. In the \~1,000 +/- miles they've been on I've not noticed anything at all to be concerned about.
Geotour HTs. Hate em.
