I brought in my 2019 Audi A7 for an alternator recall. The car has 40k miles on it. While the car was in they found the water pump was leaking and said they replaced it under warranty along with the alternator.

I use the same exact part that you bought. On mine I could see where they removed the word Lexus or Toyota from the mold. It's the same part as OEM. I replaced the water pump myself and it wasn't too bad but some of the bolts are difficult to get a socket on.
I used the Ridex water pump. It's usually seen as a budget brand, but their water pump is the only full metal one I could find. I would definitely recommend replacing it with one that has a housing and the impeller made from metal.
I used binder clips to hold the timing belt on the driver side cam gears instead of purchasing the tool. Purchased OEM thermostat from dealership and Aisin water pump / timing belt kit from RockAuto. First time doing one, was easier than I thought it was going to be.
Update: Water pump replaced on Friday and new pump is quiet like the original so problem seems to be solved. Only conclusion is the 1st replacement must have been a factory defect and even though it was working, the noise definitely didnt give me long term confidence.
My Tundra was awesome, but guzzled fuel and I drive like an old grandpa. 13-14 mpg is expected. Also, Tundras are fairly expensive to maintain compared to Ford. My water pump went out and it was about $1k to get fixed.
im coming up on a turn and my wheel feels like its locked. i tried my hardest to turn and it wouldnt. look at my gauges and my temp gauge is almost at max, look behind me and theres a huge cloud of smoke, my water pump blew.
The only issue I’ve had with Audi over about 200k miles split between an 87 cs turbo Quattro and a 15 a5 cabrio is they each needed a water pump around 90k
I would get a vdo/continental water pump. I’ve bought the all aluminum water pump from pierburg and it died in about 800 miles.
the alu pumps are not designed for the n54, they arent as powerful as the plastic ones and can cause overheating.
