TIMKEN Wheel hub

I’ve run timken hubs on my nb. Last set saw 10+ autox events and 9 track days, including an off track that prematurely wore out the driver side. I’m installing another set as we speak.

Pros: withstood track abuse
Cons: premature wear (driver side)
Vehicle: Mazda

I had errors on both front ABS sensors, so I replaced the sensors. That didn't fix the problem. After I did some research online many issues seemed to be tied to the throttle body, which I replaced. Nope, didn't help. I replaced the left front hub which is a pain... I finally got the old hub off and the new one installed. I still got an ABS error but this was the right front. So I replaced that hub. The ABS error went away...

Pros: ABS error went away
Cons: hub replacement is a pain
Vehicle: Volkswagen Jetta

SKF Wheel hub

I put SKF on my car in 2021 and about 25k miles later I am running just fine on them. I had bad luck with OEMs not lasting and that is why I changed over to SKF.

Pros: running just fine
Cons: OEMs not lasting
Vehicle: Dodge Dart
Mileage: 40233 km

TIMKEN Wheel hub

Timken is generally good quality, but don’t use them on track with high grip tires. The hub design is flawed due to the excess machining, which creates stress points. They’re perfectly fine for street use.

Pros: good for street use
Cons: flawed for track use, stress points

FEBI Wheel hub

I purchased a set of new Febi 5x100 VR6 wheel hubs to press into my steering knuckles with new bearings as the existing bearings were shot.

Pros: new bearings
Cons: axle spline would not fit

I'd still be driving my 2003 Envoy if the dipchit on her phone hadn't run the red light and totaled it November 2017. I was 122 miles from rolling over 175,000. I replaced 2 wheel hubs, the fan clutch, 2 HVAC control units, and oil cooler. The drivers heated seat stopped working in 2015. Other than that it never left me stranded.

Pros: never left stranded
Cons: replaced wheel hubs, replaced fan clutch, replaced HVAC units, replaced oil cooler, heated seat stop
Mileage: 175000 km

I replaced the entire hub. The bearing had a crunchy spot when rotating it. Even with the wheel on it was stiff to move, and had a particularly rough spot.

Cons: crunchy spot

TOPRAN Wheel hub

I only have 1 experience with Topran: previous owner put a front wheel hub on the car not long before I bought it. Junk. Wore out way too soon. My mechanic had nothing good to say about Topran parts.

Cons: wore out too soon
