when you do need a replacement, get it replaced with Pilkington brand. It's far superior to OEM (usually Carlex)

I have had 1 small chip in my 2013 Mazda 3. It happened in a construction zone and I was able to get it into safelite that same day and had the chip fixed within an hour. That one has stayed pretty good, but it is noticeable.
