Alternator OEM KIA or OEM Nissan
I replaced mine with a Nissan Quest alternator works pretty well and is cheaper with a higher current output there is a write up in the forums for it
I purchased a 2002 Nissan Quest alternator for my 2002 Xterra. It bolts right up. 120 amps instead of 80 amps.
I'm a little biased towards the Z32- Winter mode Summer wheels I love how it drives, feels and looks. ~80k miles since 2003 I've replaced the alternator a couple times, high pressure power steering hose, a couple injectors, the clutch twice and many tires.
I have 155k on my 2002 Nissan Frontier XE King Cab 4 cylinder 4x2. No real problems besides a bad alternator and rear e-brake cable that I just replaced
Bought a '91 XE 5 speed in 1996. Sold in 2000. Took it from about 60K to 150K. Pros: Gas Mileage--High 30s, never saw 40 like some people. 5 speed helped keep it peppy. Anvil like reliability. Replaced alternator and clutch.
I would suggest the genuine Kia one, or a professional grade like NAPA's top line or an AC-Delco. I would avoid anything that says "USA Industries" or "Duralast" on it, based on personal experience. In our shop we have had nearly 100% failure rates with those brands.
