AC DELCO Battery

The old battery I had in mine was an AC Delco, model ACD41-60 (I'm guessing size 41, 60-month warranty). Sticker said 685 CCA, 330 for charge. It's raining outside right now and I don't have any pictures of the sticker for my current one. The Delco battery finally died after being 8 years old. It showed signs of aging and being weak for about 3 months before that, and then one of the cells shorted out, so it had about a 5-amp capacity.

Pros: long life, high CCA
Cons: showed signs of aging
Part number: ACD41-60

ODYSSEY Battery

So I have the Odyssey 1200MJT in now and securely mounted with their "HDS mounting strap for 1200/1700 series batteries" from West Coast Batteries. It's mounted in the stock location in my 1994 Corrado VR6.

Pros: securely mounted, stock location
Cons: longer bolt needed
Mileage: 55000 km
Part number: 1200MJT

In our shop we have found that the professional line of AC-Delco batteries seem to last the longest. I believe if you check the AC-Delco was what was installed at the factory in your Suzuki, and that lasted 7 years.

Pros: long lasting, reliable
Vehicle: Suzuki XL7

ODYSSEY Battery

I use a 790cca Odyssey fmj in the summer and just bought a 590cca battery from Autozone and have a 4 year warranty and it seems to perform better than the oem battery that was killed by my bag setup.

Pros: performs better

I've got two of those now (in the Group 65 monstrosity size) and they live up to the promises especially still delivering at low states of charge. I left the parking lights on my truck on for 6 hours and it still started. I'm quite happy with them and would now recommend them over the Mexican-production Optima.

Pros: delivers at low charge, starts after 6 hours, happy with them

AC DELCO Battery

But the best OEM batteries are definitely AC Delco, the GM ones. Routinely replaced them at 6-8 years, longest I ever saw was the original battery of a 97 Grand Prix that I replaced in early 2008.

Pros: long lasting

I ran an Odyssey mini battery in my weekend car, any longer than 2 weeks without driving would drain it. I wouldn't really recommend a mini battery for a daily, if your car doesn't start after 2-3 tries, you might be stuck lol.

Cons: drains quickly, not recommended
