Battery Bosch or OEM Audi
Bosch batteries in my older bmw lasted around 5 years but I was told it’s recommended to change every 2 years.
Change mine in my 2016 Golf R to this battery and it's been great. EFB shite didn't even last the first 3yrs.
We have a 2009 Fiesta 1.4 petrol and replaced the battery with a Bosch battery 5 years ago after the same issue. The car does a few short journeys a week so not ideal but there's no signs that the battery is about to go flat.
Yuasa are high quality. I generally get Bosch S4 or S5 as they've never let me down.
And yet my 2008 VW had a Bosch battery out the factory ????♂️.
Fucking thing lasted 10 years or so though. So credit to Bosch for that one!
looking at that reciept seeing Enhanced flooded its even worse, we are a main dealer of Bosch batteries and their EFB rated voltage is 12.6V when not in use not sure for the other big battery brands
Yes, 2009 Audi TT, $800 as part of my yearly service in LA. Complained to Service advisor about the labor, and he took 20% off the battery portion.
Based on these comments, I definitely replaced my battery last year wrong. I just ripped out the old one and slapped in the new one. I didn\u2019t code anything haha
I bought a brand new Bosch battery last year ( not Halfords)and when I checked the voltage it was less than 10 volts so there are dud batteries out there.
After 7 sets of battery drains, I installed a new set and left it on a shelf untouched for a week. Turned on and dead. Made a warranty claim with Bosch to which their lazy troubleshooting reply:
Let me start by apologizing on behalf of BOSCH for any inconvenience this has caused you. I performed a complete inspection: I 1st charged up your lithium battery. I then calibrated & tested unit with both alkaline & lithium batteries: PASSED. I know it’s an inconvience. But: Leaving any batteries in unit when not in use: ( Unit will drain all battery types )—( Unit self discharges batteries when not in use ) --That is why Bosch put in manual tom remove batteries. PG# 21—Attached – ( they actually don’t say how long the “ extended period is “) That way it is not considerd a factory defect. Other than that: unit is operating to all Manufacurers Specification & Tolerances. Best regards,
-Well I'm never buying another Bosch product again with customer service like that. Pissed that I bought this expensive paperweight. What product in today's world drains batteries when not in use? Clearly flawed engineering they are hiding and do not value the end users. A recall is in order.
