Brake pads Textar or OEM Subaru
I did change my F30 with Textar and it was plug n play. No need to go big if you don’t go on track days often imo.
I beat the hell out of some OE Textars in 110+ heat at Buttonwillow and they held up admirably. You don’t need anything more for the street.
I always had good results with textar and Zimmerman.
I use all Textar disks and pads and they are excellent.
I went in for a 30k service (2021 Ascent) and mentioned the brake judder and warranty extension. They confirmed and ordered the parts (pads and rotors), awaiting parts now but it seems it will be all be covered.
Watched some YouTube, bought OEM parks off rock auto, did it in 40 mins for $300. Those bitches survived many track days for another 30,000 miles till I sold the car.
Anyways, its a good working solid car that needed tires and rotors/pads that i've already done.
My factory textar pads would do this after a rain, or whenever it was humid out after about 50000 miles. I replaced them with some hawk hps pads and zimmerman rotors, no more squeak now! Although I am not in love with the Hawk HPS pads, a lot of people recommend them, and while I do agree they bite pretty good when they've got some heat in them, the cold bite is actually pretty bad for a "street" pad.
They are the worst deal. They charge like what $93 now for an oil change? I can get a case of 12 quarts for like $24. And do it my self. I can’t even remember what they tried to quote me for a brake job. I got brakes and rotors for under $200.
I have an old groupe A Subaru homologation car. It’s on its 6th engine which is also currently blown. There are NO MORE ENGINES. NONE. ZERO. NADA. NOTHING. So now I have to buy a crashed wrx and swap the whole drivetrain over if I want the car to move under its own power. My frs just……… I mean…… 250 in brake pads and fluid, and 500 bucks in tires. Oh and a 90$ oil change before and after.
