Engine oil LIQUI MOLY or AMSOIL
Used the high mileage at oil changes on my truck in the summer and liqui Moly in winter. Both really great products.
using good quality oil (generally liqui molly) seems to be very much recommended.
I use liqui-moly 5w50 green stuff supposed to have better wear protection and I also add cerratech to it.
Liqui moly, 5w40
Dominator is a excellent oil
Dominator is great in saws. The only issue is that I'm small saws especially, and at thicker ratios, like more oil than 40:1, some bike oils will not burn completely and will gum up mufflers, screens, piston tops. Mostly high performance racing oils.
Liquimoly is by far a better 5w40 to put in a bmw.
I used OEM, Motul, and LiquiMoly oil. The only one that seemed to do anything with oil consumption was the LiquiMoly. I changed the oil every 5k miles and I had similar experiences as you until I did the LiquiMoly. Completely anecdotal, but I’m a believer. Been using it ever since.
Amsoil Z-rod. You need zddp or you can kiss your cam lobes good-bye.
Random guy who works on these cars here, change it at 5-6k regularly. Ignore the casuals here who don’t work on these cars, and especially Ignore the factory recommended interval. Your engine will last much longer, you’ll reduce wear on the timing chain, turbo, as well as other components. You’ll also reduce the chance of your piston rings getting glued together with carbon creating excessive oil consumption. Just change it. I recommend liquimoly oil.
