Engine oil LIQUI MOLY or PENNZOIL
I've used LiquiMoly on euro Diesels before and used 15w-40 oil on my 6.0 Powerstroke this past oil change but really want to get some feedback before I change my oil again.
I don’t plan on ever putting anything that isn’t Liqui Moly in a B58, it deserves nothing less
That's what I run. It supposedly runs lighter than the specified 40. It's LL-01 approved. I change it every 8000km/5000miles.
The best performing oil for cold starts is probably Pennzoil platinum full synthetic if your particular prius uses 0w-20. It is made from syn gas, and is particularly thin.
For comparison, i got 6,000 miles out of Pennzoil platinum vs royal purple, with which i would get 5,000 miles prior to the oil changing color and about a 1 to 2 percent dip in fuel economy. Regardless of the wear additives, Pennzoil platinum lasts longer, again likely due to the cold start performance and the way the hybrid drivetrain works.
I do liqui moly special tec 5w30 and a mann filter on my n54 every 5000 miles. I'm lower mileage than you at 55k but never had an issue. I tried 5w40 but the car just feels better with the 5w30 in it.
Haven’t heard anything like that about Mobil 1, but I personally use Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w30. It’s performed spectacularly for me.
Liqui-Moly dropped my oil temp about 15F on the Accessport, but I have never seen sub-200 on a turbo car.
I switched to LiquiMoly 5 years ago. I use Leichtlauf in my MKIII. LiquiMoly is awesome! And it's made in Germany.
I've been using Leichtlauf High Tech and its been working great, Just make sure it has the right approval and change it every 5k miles.
Penzoil Ultra Platinum will be on a entire different level. Stuff is amazing.
