Engine oil Mobil or AMSOIL
I've been using Mobil 1 0w-30 AFE in my VN for over 18000 miles now. No issues and runs fine.
I just rolled over 200,000 in my 2011 5.7. I change mine every 5,000 miles with Mobil 1 Full Synthetic High Mileage 0W-20.
Mobil1 V-Twin 20W-50 in all three holes.
I use Amsoil, all 3 holes.
The Engine oil is proven, the claim about the gearbox oil helping to find neutral easier was true for me, and the primary fluid does just that.
I have amsoil 20/50 in the crank, amsoil primary, and amsoil tranny. It’s the bees knees
I heard you can throw 20W-50 (Synthetic, specifically V-Twin Mobil One brand) in all three holes and have no issues.
Any synthetic - I like the Amsoil.
Mobil1 x1 1000 15w40 in all my cars. My engines are clean and quiet, oil pick-ups don't clog, there's a nice permanent oil coating everywhere.
I typically use whatever is cheapest and proven oils for all my cars. I have an '08 2.5 and have been using T6 5w40, they typically run coupons for them for $20 or 25.00 for the gallon jug. No, it doesn't get VW's official stamp of approval but it seems to do pretty well in this application and seems quite popular amongst various other makes especially Euro cars that require a 40wt oil. Quite honestly, I'm pretty sure you can run a quality 5W30 in this motor, it is not anything special. I've run M1 0W-40 and although it has the VW spec labeled on it, my car always had a faint tick coming from the valve cover area (lifter?) when warm. It never did this with the T6 oil in it.
Mobil one didnt go well with me as i was burning oil really fast it and my engine wasn't feeling it I tend to use different brands also as i recently tried royal purple
