Engine oil Mobil or AMSOIL
According to [these measurements](https://540ratblog.wordpress.com/), Mobil 1 advanced full synthetic (basic Mobil 1) has a film strength of 117,799 psi whereas Pennzoil Platinum's fim strength is only 99,949 psi.
So then **Mobil 1 is better**.
Honestly, as long as you're changing your oil regularly and not putting Autozone branded oil in, it doesn't matter that much. I like Mobile 1 for NA cars.
I did an oil change last week at 5800 miles and used Mobil1 0W40 VW spec .
A rotary engine builder in my city with 30 years experience absolutely swears by Amsoil XL 5w30. So that's what I use in my RX8 now.
Truth, Its a much debated topic. Local testing has shown M1 0W40 to hold up the best.
I use 502/505 Mobil-1 0W-40 in my 2012 VW 2.0T, and my 2010 Audi 3.0T. I change every 3000 miles.
Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5w40 has a more stout additive package and has lower sulphated ash which means less intake valve buildup
Use good oil, Liqui-Moly 5W-40, or Mobil 1 0W-40 "European Car Formula".
I use extended performance full synthetic - mobil 1. No problems so far.
Currently running mobil 1 MXT4 in my 2002 vstrom 1000. Holy fuck is it overpriced, but it's cheap insurance. Zero oil consumption despite cruising the highways at 140-150 Kph, @6000rpm.
