I use Mobil 1 synthetic blend HIGH MILAGE 5w-30. I think the high milage formula is the best for these old engines.
Right now I have liqui moly 5w-30 in there and it runs fine.
My G37x likes mobil 0w 30 car feels great with this oil
I paid $90 for the 9 liters of liqui moly OEM oil my s5 requires and did it myself.
I've ran liquid moly strictly on my car.
Been using Mobil1 5W-30 since 1998... GTI now has 232,500 miles and is smooth as silk. I do oil changes on the dot at 5K miles.
The part number they listed for each quart of oil was G-E55-540-1B-DSP . Look that up and you'll see why oil changes are expensive. Somehow I don't think the oil is better than the Mobil1 I buy at Walmart at $24 for 5 quarts.....
Mobil1 should be fine. People are anal about oil but I've got 90k on my wrx with regular oil changes every 3-4k miles with Pennzoil ultra platinum or Mobil1 Extended Performance.
Edge Professional 508 is excellent, however, I have to agree with @VWmechatronic , the Mobil 1 sourced stuff is top notch. Almost 5K on mine and level on dipstick has not moved.
I use Mobil ESP VW507.00 5w30, which is on the approved oil list and I buy for $30 when it goes on sale at Canadian Tire.
