Not going to lie. I use Walmart auto for my oil changes. If you synthetic premium you can pick your own oil, I use Mobil one.
Mobil 1 full synthetic and Mobil 1 filter. I did cams recently on my GT and at 150k, the top end looks almost new.
I’ve been using Mobil1 0w-30 in it for over 20 years. My Blackstone Labs reports still come back clean with no water, fuel or antifreeze found in the oil.
Right now I have some Lucas High Performance, but the brand is relatively immaterial to me. As long as it's a reputable brand and it meets the spec in the manual.
What brand oil are you using? I noticed a decrease in consumption with Mobil 1 and stuck with it.
Mobil one..yes they make ac delco oil, but the additive package is a little better with m1 vs Delco.
Mobil 1 hands down. There's better but not as consistent for the price.
I’ve been using Mobil 1 in all of my vehicles and other equipment for 20+ years, never had a problem with it at all.
Funny, I changed my oil today for the first time as well. Also 1700 miles. Not black but certainly a lot darker than the Mobil One 0w40 that replaced it..
BTW, Mobil runs hotter in my car.
