Engine oil Shell or Pentosin
I was running Motul 8100 and got tired of having to pay alot of money and get it shipped, so I did alot of research and found that overall, the Rotella is one of the best oils for the price, so I switched to that. I notice no difference in power, and it costs alot less
And I use a 15W40 diesel oil year round here in the Bay Area, currently Rotella-T, but have used Mobil Delvac 1300, Delo and others.
i always used 15w40. usually shell rotella in all my old diesels. sometimes i used castrol. but it was always 15w40
Thanks for selling me the last two bottles of Pentosin!
Rotella T 5/40 syn hopefully going in this weekend after a seafoam treatment. 25 CAD for 4 litres, inexpensive as it gets up here and you can get it at any TSC or truckstop.
Personally I would run a higher detergent 40 weight oil such as Rotella synthetic 5W40 than a "high mileage" oil.
Rotella 5w40 here. IMO, I wouldn't run less than a 40w on the upper end if you do a lot of freeway driving.
I just changed my oil to Rotella T 5w40 Synthetic. It's great stuff. So far so good and the car runs smooth.
Pentosin High Performance is the right one to use. 5w-40 Pento High Performance 5W-40 is an especially formulated fuel economy engine oil. It is based on synthetic base oils only, the most modern and best engine oil additives currently available and a very shear stable VI - Improver. The combination of these exquisite components guarantees an excellent engine performance under the most severe driving conditions. Pento High Performance 5W-40 is ideally suited as an all season engine oil. Pento High Performance 5W-40 contains a special combination of very efficient fric-tion modifiers which cause the engine to run very smoothly. Even more important, it causes fuel savings in a recognizable way.
I would stick with oils like PENTOSIN/LUBRO-MOLY/CASTROL GERMAN/MOTUL/ This one is easy. Anything not made in the US and is 100% synthetic. I use Pentosin high performance 5w-40, 502/501/500 approved oil.
