Engine oil Shell or ZIC
I switched to 5w30 shell from 10w30 havoline.
No problems. The engine is a little bit cleaner.
I am using Shell Helix Ultra 5w40, fully synthetic for my Lancer (2006), change it at around 7000 KMs. No complaints, my travel includes short & long distance, very happy & satisfied.
Why spend more when you can buy Shell Helix Ultra FS 5w40 from Lotus's, Giant or Aeon Big for half the price or less compared bought in petrol stations.
I run mobil1 but my local small engine place that installs and services Generac, Kohler and Briggs swears by Rotella straight 30 weight.
I have a baleno woth 130k mileage and I have been using shell 10w 40 and the performance and fuel avg is great
I currently use Zic 5W-20 oil in my mirage
it has around 190kms
I use rotella 15w-40, high zinc content but my engine also has 230k miles
I use one oil - shell rotella. It goes in my XRL my 4.0 Jeep and my 7.3IDI diesel ????
I always used gn4 but switched to rotella t6 15w40 cheaper, full synthetic. it can handle the heat alittle better and I like the shift quality over gn4. Walmart has it for cheap
G60 Carat said: Speaking of Rotella, Here's a personal observation of mine. My beater Saturn 1.9 has a lifter tick (not fixing it, don't care), so I just put in Rotella T, and it quiets it up a bunch! But last oil change I just used the 20w50 I had on the shelf for the VW, since it's in pieces anyways. Despite the heavier oil, the lifter tick is louder with 20w50 that it was with 15w40 Diesel oil.
