Headlights TYC or Tesla
TYC or Depo are OE replacement lamps, they're good enough for insurance and/or body shops to use instead of OE. The difference is the lens material, it's a thinner, lower grade plastic.
My son bought some they looked immaculate. We compared the OEM housing to the TYC and it looked like TYC bought the molds or the engineering drawings as everything was identical, down to seam lines.
Bought some TYC replacements for my 4th gen a few years back. They’ve held up well
TYCs still rocking without any moisture two years later.
I’ve used TYC many times and no issues to report.
I’ve got TYC headlights on my V50. It all works and fits but the quality is definitely lower than oem, but it works and its a lot cheaper so its worth it if you are on a budget. Would go oem next time though
i swear, every single fucking tesla out there has misaligned headlights from the factory. it's not that other cars don't have this issue, it's that damn near every tesla blinds me at night.
I have TYC headlights on my P2. One of them hasn't got a perfect seal and is fogging up after carwashes so I drive a little bit with the lid off. I got it exchanged through warranty but the issue persisted and since the entire front has to come off, I've just decided to live with it. Otherwise they work as OEM
TYC is as bad as it gets.
Don't get TYC. My beam pattern is poor, and I had cast metal parts inside the headlights get soft and bend from the heat.
