Oil filter Mann or Motorcraft
Motorcraft filters use a silicone anti drain back valve ADBV. Cheapos use rubber ones that get hard in the cold and don’t seal. If they don’t seal oil leaks out of the hydraulic chain tensioners and they aren’t pressurized when the engine starts, so the chain isn’t tensioned and it rattles for a second against the plastic guide before oil pressure comes back.
chain driven and reliable, only maintenance they need is regular oil changes and you can do that yourself for £35 with a jug of castrol and a mann filter
Replace filter (Mann/Mahle) every oil change.
I use Mobile 1, 5/30 in my F150 EcoBoost...287K on it. Change every 6K . And I am an absolute believer in OEM filters. My new Bronco gets the same treatment. Don't skimp on the filter.
I also went with the MANN W 67/1 because it’s stable, flows well, and filters reliably.
Also, going for a Mann oil filter (W67/1). Does anyone recommend not using it, I know from experience Mann oil filters are extremely high quality, usually better than OE, but I’ve found no specific feedback for the 370z
I would say do your own oil change. Castrol euro car and the maan filter. Do it often, maybe before the 5k kms. Make sure to do the transmission on time.
While Ford said you can use 5-20 I know where I live it gets warmer than 86 degrees so in my F150 I run 5-30 or 10/40.
I’ve had no issues with synth and have 255k on it.
Also…I would recommend a Motorcraft filter.
We have a 2023 tiquan hi r line and a 2023 Taos highline never an issue except rear brakes on Taos and wipers both taken care of under warranty/ we change oil Liqui moly 0w-20 every 5,000 km with a Mann oil filter and air filter every second oil change also by Mann
Changed the oil, and filter this summer. All well and good before. After a little while, a screeching sound from the oil filter housing. Collapsed filter? Nope. Replaced it with another new filter and same issue once again. On the slightest rev the sound is gone. No more Mann for me…
