The bf Goodrich trail terrain t/a’s are what I had on my xj, good tires that stood great on highway and on mud/sand/rocks. Didn’t lose any mileage either and they looked pretty good after around 1000 miles, no visible wear or tread loss so I’ll probably be running those in the future
Just bought the BFG Comp 2 A/S from Sam's. I like them, the guy who put them on seemed to really like them, and I see them recommended a lot.
BFG KO2s were OEM and I replaced with another set. UE came with 33"KO2s (not mudders) infused with some kind of black magic that allows them to be great off road and quiet, smooth high grip on paved roads - mine lasted more the 70k miles.
True budget greats to me are definitely uniroyal rain sport 3. Not dead cheap but used em on the front of all my drift cars for grip and havent got a single complaint.

Good luck and perhaps try nittos or bfg’s next(my bud with a trd offroad taco got 66k out of his ko2’s, which is why we are trying them on the wife’s 4rnr)
For a car like a C1 a decent mid-range tyre *that is A-rated for wet grip* would be fine.
Where I live there are grooves cut in the highway and Uniroyal tires are particularly susceptible to tracking on those grooves. Otherwise I’ve had pretty good luck with them.
I think they are both great tires. I will say my personal experience with KO2’s was less than stellar but I have buddies who love them. Mine were annoyingly noisy when turning, I ended up replacing them with wildpeaks and have been really happy with them.
I got both, one set on winter wheels and the other on my summer. Once my ko2s need to be replaced, I'm buying another set of wildpeaks! In my experience, the ko2s in rain are horrible
