I love me my Bridgestone Weatherpeaks all-weather tiresI live in Southern California near the beach where it doesn’t snow, but make frequent road trips during the winter to Mammoth and Big Bear where it can snow heavily at times. 70 degree weather to drive to the 20-30 degree mountains in snowy conditions and these handle like a beast.
If you want the best, Michelin X-Ice are considered the best for icy conditions and Bridgestone Blizzaks are the best for deeper snow. I'm on my 2nd set of Blizzaks and I loooovvee them. I get excited when it snows hard so I can get some snow driving and hand brake turns in.
But for A/T and H/T tires, I have been using Bridgestones for the longest time now.
I chose the Bridgestone weatherpeaks for my 21 forester. They were great in the rain on the highway and on dry gravel/dirt roads.
Bridgestone winter tires are better quality than the Firestone Winter Force unless you're looking to have them studded.
Like the Bridgestone Turanza 6 is pretty damn good, it's probably the best summer touring tyre on the market right now. Comfort and low noise typical of a touring tyre, with performance approaching a UHP.
I mean one of the first things I did on my Golf R was.... better rubber and it really did transform the car.(FYI... highly recommend the newish Bridgestone Potenza Sports). I guess the other point is.. don't skimp on tires. Pay for what you get.
Did a quick look up on the tires, they’re Bridgestone alensa 001’s, which are a street/sport truck summer tire with a 300tw rating…looking at almost 2k for a new set
The problem is that the more aggressive the snow [tires] the noisier they were. After 4 seasons on Blizzaks I was ready to burn them.
Pretty sure I had Ecopias on my new 18 Sportwagen. I think I got rid of them at 40k due to noise and cupping on the rears. I rotated them every 5k as well. Not impressed.
