Tires Continental or SUMITOMO
Continental Extreme Contact Sports; LOVE them.
I personally love the DWS and used them as my "winter tire" in the PNW. I did find them to lack the sidewall support for giving me confidence in the dry, however if you aren't pushing the car hard, they are a fantastic all year tire
On my 2015 Passat I put a Chinese brand as I go many miles the design of the tires is really good looking, no road noise and good grip so far 15k miles and no issues and half the price.
I think the comfort of the 17" DWS06 is my favorite of the lot, so much so I sold the 18" Neuspeed RSE10's wrapped in PSAS4's on my Alltrack and am replacing them with 17" Neuspeed RSE05's wrapped in 235/45/17 DWS+.
Based on the above comment you will love the Conti's Really giving up very little except at the extreme limits Tire wear is excellent and they perform great in the wet which in my opinion is the most important performance criteria
I have ridden GP5000 25c for several thousand miles. Front tire is at 90 PSI, rear at 100. Rides smooth and I haven’t had a flat but once when I clearly deserved it ( smashed a pothole at speed, probably lucky I didn’t break my rim)
After replacing 3 Toyo’s with bubbles I went with Conti DWS +. Handle potholes way better and better grip in bad weather.
I have ContiProContact tires for my R-60. I most definitely purchased Run Flats as they were the “MINI Approved” tires suggested by service guy at the MINI dealership.
I have had the DWS 06 on my R for almost a year. Drove through Reno’s ridiculous amount of snow last year. They’re a good tire in fluffy snow and got me around no problem. When it gets more hard packed they struggle, but they’re an all season tire and I didn’t expect much there.
After a week with the DWS, I've decided to replace them with the OEM version of Pirelli all seasons. The DWS on my car aren't "loud", but the noise they do give off (high pitched whine) drives me nuts at highway speed.
