Tires Continental or Vredestein
I have the continental ExtremeContact DWS! I had the same problem as you and after replacing them my hatch feels way more responsive and more sporty, i got them in the winter and they seemed to do really well with slush and ice
I just put the Continental DWS06 Plus on my 3 hatch and took them on a long trip. Definitely inspired more confidence than the original Toyos I had on the car. Takes a corner nicely. ;) Think road noise is less as well.
Ending up buying the continental DWS and I am loving it. Like Its so smooth and the road noise is much lower.
The 4 seasons are a great training tyre. They roll well enough for mortals and are pretty durable.
I've rode 4 Seasons, Gatorskins, GP4000s, and prefer GP5000s over all of them for puncture resistance. Plus they have grip.
They seems good through the MN winter, including 2 trips to the North Shore of Superior. It snowed both times, and we never had any issue with traction.
Best all-season tires I've found so far personally.
Go with the Vredestein; significantly underappreciated tires and an incredible value
The Continental ExtremeContact DWS I have on the car now, are pretty much worn out after about about 45,000 miles.
These tires were purchased along with the wheels. Two, i had a second tire begin cracking on the sidewall which they are not covering, and they are trying to pass it off due to road hazard and underinflation. This is clearly a manufacturing defect, which they aren't covering! I am posting this as a warning, and it is up to you to make the ultimate decision. This is just my personal experience, with which i am very displeased. The problem is not with the company i bought the wheels from, but with Vredestein tires. I have never had this many problems with a set of tires in my life!
