Tires Cooper or Nokia
The Nokian tires are the winner. We run these tires in Greenland, and I run them on the R (The R2’s) in the North East. They are incredible tires in cold weather conditions. I’ve gotten many seasons - i am just now retiring them, after a very long run. They would have lasted even longer except I left them on the car in the summer because I couldn’t bring myself to switch to my firmer summer tires. Despite the abuse they held up.
I have a Finnish tire called Nokian outpost at/s and they work pretty damn well, have size 32s on a stock 3rd gen 4Runner and I went up to wheel in about 2 feet of snow last year about 5 or 6 times and only got stuck once in a deep snow drift on a hill. I’ve had no issues with them especially since they were 550 installed so not bad if you can get them and are on a budget, I think there are better options but for the price these have been almost flawless other than they are wearing a little faster then a expensive tire would, but that’s par for the course.
I recently bought four Nokian Ones for my 2019 Honda Civic EX after reading some really good things about them. I’m now approaching my first year of use and all I can say is that they’re great performing tires. Very little wear showing thus far. Fine traction throughout the year.
I'd highly recommend Cooper St Maxx. I've had Duratracs, KO2 and Wild peaks and the St Maxx were much better than those options.
Had them on my MB C300 4matic. Little to no road noise, amazingly smooth ride, and were great in all conditions. Even snow.
These are on my truck right now. About 5k on them and I’ve had no issues. Grip is good on and off road. Ride is smooth. A little heavier than my stocks, so I’ve had a couple mpg loss, but other than that, I’m happy with them.
Ive been running 10 ply AT3s on mine for two years and i think they’re a great tire for the money. Winter performance leaves a little to be desired, but they’re good enough if you know how to handle. I never expect great winter performance from a 10 ply AT tire anyways.
These tires were already on my truck when I bought it used. Wish I had done more research and realized they were a Wal-mart exclusive.
I bought my truck in 2020 and had to replace my tires this year due to simple wear after putting another 50k miles on them.
They were fine through the freeze in TX (albeit, about as good as an all-terrain can be on snow/ice), and handled mud, dirt and overland without an issue.
I WISH my local discount tire still had cooper tires. Mine lasted 75k miles (4 years) before I had to replace them. I’m an average driver and get them rotated every 4/5 months so I wasn’t running bald. They gripped better on turns and we’re quieter (Honda civic)
Not a fan of Nokian, they slip like crazy. I have some of their all seasons on my RX350 and they are like hockey pucks, just sliding everywhere.
