Tires Falken or SUMITOMO
Update after driving to, on and back from the track - The grip is much greater than stock Hankooks, was a wet day but I still found the grip to be quite impressive. The brakes stayed cool without any signs of fade or losing brake feel.
Really liking my Falken Aklimates. I have had them about 9 months....summer/fall/rochester ny winter/ and a very wet spring. I got stuck in gnarly northern Kentucky tornado storms a week ago...super safe and planted in sketchy standing water situations surrounded by big rigs...these tires are so well balanced in Every condition. Def sticky enough for pushing it in twisties and carving big off-ramps and spirited city freeway missions. Getting 36+ mpg and I drive like a 16 yo more than I would like to admit.
Track setup installed! EBC Blue rear, IS2500 front, RS3 brake ducts, 18x9 +42 Superspeed Wheels with Falken Azenis RT615K+. Its flush af! And yes, Even though its a 200tw hard sidewall high noise tire, the ride is so much better than stock OEMs
Wildpeaks replaced my BFG K02s. I’ve got about 15k miles on mine so far and like them much more than the BFGs. Wildpeaks were very noticeably quieter than BFGs, but it does seem that road noise above 60mph has increased a bit as the tires aged. Not sure why that is. Wildpeaks seem to have better wet and snow traction as well.
Got mine in September of 2024. I drive on trails for my job and they have been amazing. In areas where I needed 4x4 with old set of wranglers I drive right through without 4x4 in the wild peaks. Very quiet on highway and handle amazing in the rain. So far very happy!
The AT4Ws are much, **much** quieter and rides smoother but my main reason for switching from the MTs to ATs is because I couldn't stand the lack of grip in wet weather with mud tires. The AT4Ws still aren't quite as good as the stock Goodyears but a bit better than the MTs in the rain. Otherwise, the AT4Ws are on the cheaper end cost-wise but still a fan favorite.
Got them on Tacoma, about 6000-km have been in a few serous rain storms and one white out snow storm all on the highway.
I think they are perfect for my truck
I also have AT3Ws. I live in MN/WI and we have sub 0 temps usually long stretches and they don’t honestly do that great when nice fluffy snow becomes the hard packed stuffed mixed with dry pavement.
They are a good tire since I have had them on for 65,000 miles just this set… ( get new tires soon )
I think I will be going another direction. They just get too loose when temps get colder.
Summer spring fall driving they have been great.
I might be the only one that has these that’s sliding around on snow and ice. Just don’t have confidence out on the road, which is a crappy feeling to have. Especially ice - I immediately start slipping, even if going straight.
I’ve had the Wildpeaks on my lifted Sienna for 15,000km. They are already down to 6/32 hydroplane in rain and spin out on paved sanded road up to the ski hill. There wasn’t even any snow on the road and 4 cars behind me passed when I had to stop in the middle of the road because I could not move forward. I’m not impressed.
