Tires Falken or YOKOHAMA
I got 90k miles out of the stock Yokohama geolanders. Put 4 new ones, exact same tires, and got 90k more...
I’m at 54k on the oem geolanders the car came with when I got it. Just had a rotation done, shop is guessing I’ll get through until next winter. ????♂️
I ran 265/70/17 Wildpeaks on my stock 2018 for years and had no major issues with them. They are a bit heavy and my personal experience was they did not balance the best, but maybe that was addressed with the AT4s.
I got 60k out of Falken Wildpeak A/T. Only rotated them once, probably could have gotten 70k if I rotated them more frequently. Mostly highway miles.
Parents 2018 Forester got ~65k miles on stock Yokohama tires with regular rotations and replaced them with a bit over 3/32” left on them.
Just did an 8k mile road trip on new Wildpeak AT4Ws and they were excellent for everything from freeway to up the side of a mountain. Nice and quiet, drives easy, and three peak mountain snowflake rated.
Wildpeak AT trails have been great for me in South America.
My wife did a set of AD09s in under 1500 miles on the back of our 250bhp Elise Cup. They work but they really do wear.
Did a bunch of research and ended up with Yokohama avid ascend GT. Reviews were good, dry and wet performance were all great, I only saw some negatives about wear being quicker and 1 Reddit comment about how bad it handed.
That Reddit comment was right. On center it was the most vague I could turn the steering wheel a few inches and feel nothing. It felt like it was drifting at times as if it were gusting.
Terrible on my Silverado. Ride like I'm driving on rims
