2022 Model S Plaid purchased used and needed new front tires. Picked me up a pair of Hankook Ventus iON A 101Y 265/35/R21. Brand new from eBay purchased pair for under $300 !!!
Hankook Ventus V12 EV02. Hankook's have became my favorite tire in the last few years after doing tires/mechanics for 20 years.
I decided to swap the OEM Kumho tires for a set of CC2s with just 350 miles on the car.
My butt sensor says the CC2s ride a lot more softly than the OEM Kumhos. The ride feels more compliant and less sharp over potholes, expansion joints, etc. I find the CC2's ride to be noticeably better than the Kumhos. The CC2s also solved 90% of the steering wheel vibration issue.
I have kumho tires on my car. I bought it brand new in 2020 and they are just getting to the point where I will probably need to replace them in the next few months. I have 39,000 miles on my car so I guess that's pretty good for a mid-grade tire.
In comparing equal sizes, the EVO3 appears to be heavier, have more stabilized treadblocks, and stronger sidewalls/belts, but made with a softer rubber compound. Probably a better tire for track use.
Just got the hankooks last month swapped the kumhos at 40k. Slightly louder than the kumhos but not by much. As an earlier person said insanely better in heavy rain/standing water I felt like I was driving an suv the last time I was in a deluge just wicked right though it. Efficiency seems about the same as kumhos.
I replaced my GT summer tires with the Hankooks and couldn’t be happier. I went through this last mild winter in the pacific northwest with no issues. Good grip in light snow and heavy rain. Low noise and great handling with my sometimes overly aggressive driving.
Mine is studded Kumho Wintercraft. It's actually quite good in the snow and ice, soft. But if we take the snow and ice out of the picture it's not that great, probably cause of studs.
At the 30,000 mile oil change, my dealer told me my tires were bald. They are the Hankook GT tires EX 235/60R18.
I went online that minute and checked to see for how many miles the Hankook GTs EX 235/60R18 were rated for, and they are rated for 75,000.
For what it's worth, my Tiguan came with Hankook Ventus Noble 2 - GARBAGE. Honestly, screw VW for choosing the cheapest RFP'd crap. And screw Hankook for making awful, awful tires - shameful. Gone are the days of VWs being factory equipped with Michelin, Pirelli, and Bridgestone.
