Tires Kumho or Cooper
Actual performance? Cooper AT3s (no joke, those tires are freaking amazing)
I couldn’t find them recently for my wife’s CX-9 so we went with Kumho Crugens and they have also been great.
I’m running Cooper ST/Maxx and they’re fucking incredible and look aggressive as fuck. Vancouver got shit on with a ton of snow and ice and I felt like the most stable vehicle on the road during the initial snowmageddon. I haven’t lost traction once all week. Strongly recommend.
I got kumho ecsta on my wrx right now.
Dropped less than 10% when we got rid of the Nexens and put on Coopers All Terrain tyres. We did this mostly because we live on dirt roads and had four punctures in four months with the Nexus. The range drop is negligible and the car handles so much better on dirt and sealed roads.
Yeah my MX5 had Kumo when I got it, and it loved to throw the rear and squeal a bit. Put RE003’s on it when I got a bit of money, holy shit. Suddenly grip monster
So, back to Kumho I went for my 2017 Passat. This time, I really looked at customer feedback and choose the highest rated ones, the Kumho Majesty 9 Solus line. All season radial. So many people who had Audi, BMW, and Lexus swore by them. Got 'em on with a front end alignment of course. OMG! This is the quietest this car has ever driven. It glides along the road. We can whisper in the car and hear each other.
Cooper AT3 4S on my 4runner, best tires I have had for daily driver and crosscountry trips for desert off-roading and snow off-roading. Great price, last long, low highway noise, Made in USA.
I've had cheap Kumho ECSTA AST's. That you get what you paid for, when money is tight. Their ECSTA Platinum LX was a much better tire, and actually didn't have wear issues which the PQ46 chassis is known for (feathering). Decent grip.
I tried kumhos on my gti and x3. Not happy with them. After some wear they get really loud and feel un balanced
