Tires Pirelli or BFGoodrich
I would buy them. I have over 100k on a set on my Tacoma. Great tires.
My last set of KO2s went more than 100,000 km. Best tires I've ever had.
I have Pirelli Scorpion A/T Plus for about a year, and 20k km (the passenger version not LT). I am pleased with them, because they have good handling. The grip on unsealed road seems satisfactory.
I love the BFG Comp2 A/S Plus. Amazing in the rain and good in snow for a non winter tire, strong sidewalls without feeling uncomfortable, and tons of grip in the dry. As an only tire its been my favorite
I like Hankook, General, and BFGoodrich.
A few years ago I went to purchase Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 tires 225/45/18r at discount tire...they wouldn't sell AND mount for my Alltrack the Load Index Rating for that size is 91, they told me the minimum LIR is 95 for the Alltrack, they said it's a liability issue for them. I purchased Pirelli P Zero + and they are surprisingly great tires.
Not sure what's going on with all the guys saying KO2s wear out quickly, I can only speak to my experience with then. Mine have 20,000 miles on them and still look pretty new, obviously I need to measure tread depth to verify how much they have worn but they aren't anywhere close to be worn out. Overall I'm very pleased with them, they are quiet on the highway, handle well on the road and give me great traction in rain, ice and mud.
I got 40,000 miles on the stock Falkens including snow and ice with conservative driving. Replaced with Pirelli Cinturado Strada "all season*"225/50/r17 from Discount tire for slightly larger tirewheel and wider tire (1/4" more clearance, a liffle more float in sand) but mostly the 70,000 mile warranty. I calculate (by gps and road markers) this gives me about 103% on miles (ie speedo reads a bit low) and I can feel the lower torque vs before. Def a harder compound than the Falkens, so I dont drive as aggressively in corners.
The former owner of my Gen3 had Angel ST on, which sucked bad.
BFGs tend to weathercheck, crack, and cup before at about 70% of wear.
