Tires Pirelli or Continental
35 front and rear has always felt good. MPSS and Conti DW and DWS both love 35 PSI as to not roll the sidewall.
Have a set of Antera 343 18" wheels for sale. They have Pirelli P Zero Nero tires on them I'm selling these personally Tires quite new, under 5k miles on the wheels and tires.
the grip is unreal compared to my old tires. Tires - $611 shipped (Continental Extremecontact DW 235-40-18, TireBuyer.com)
It is pretty good with snow tires. Sometimes I disable ASR AND ESC so the car under steers less. But it is a huge improvement over my MK VI with snows.
I personally love it and it works very well. Tires are Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 225/40ZR18
being an Audi Technician I would say Conti Pro or Cross Contacts, or Pirelli P7 due to their even wear and descent grip on crappy weather.
I've been running continental contiprocontact, decently priced and great grip. They do me wonders in the rain.
I'm running Continental PureContacts which are an all season touring tire on the mk4. In rain they grip like a bitch. In icy conditions they grip like a bitch. In loose dirt, decomposed granite etc etc they grip like a bitch. They are phenomenal
My biggest complaint about the Conti DWS's is their softer sidewall. I prefer a stiffer sidewall for a better turn-in. Other than that, I have heard good things about the Conti's.
My Pirellis got very noisy at 20K and were badly cupped by 30K. I wouldn't recommend replacing them with another set of the same tire.
