Tires Uniroyal or Kleber
I just had the following installed on my mk3.5 cabrio (a Golf III for all intents and purposes) two months ago: 195/60R14 Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring They have been good so far, no complaints on my end and they were available at my local tire shop for install.
Pros: good performance, no complaints

Kleber Quadraxer 3 205/55 R17 is \~€110/piece and will perform excellent on snow.

I have no problem recommending Kleber, especially when it is significantly cheaper in some sizes.

I picked these up and use them in Canada. They're definitely better than any all season tires for winter and on par with slightly more expensive brands like Uniroyal.

I am on my 3rd set of Uniroyal Tiger Paw A/S tires here in PA. They wear excellent. Stay quiet. Priced well.

Uniroyal is rebadged Michelin's stuff. I have two on my 06 fusion. They're alright.
