Tires YOKOHAMA or SUNNY
Yokohama are best high quality for the $. They cost less than Michelin, continental, etc but perform just as well, imo.
Yokohama is your best bang for the buck on the list. You are never going to be mad about going with the Michelins though.
Wife's focus had the yokohoma blue earth gt, they provided good grip wet or dry....managed to outrun essex police with them on when it was stolen as well.
As far as tyres go, I swear by Yokohama’s.
They can be a little soft and they don’t last forever but I’ve never found the limit of grip and I have a highly modified car and drive like I stole it.
Cheap versus branded - branded will be better everytime. In a small car with little brakes you want the best contact possible.
Ending up going with some Yokohama Geolandar CV G058. Had em for 8 days now. I have noticed my fuel economy is slightly better on the G058s
I have the Yokohama Geolander AT. Great on the road, off road, and in the rain!
I appreciate seeing the tire conversations here in particular because I have a 2019 GX460 Premium (no lift, Lexus rims, nothing special yet) and tires are a fresh concern but I don't mean to hijack a topic on two other specific tire models, and if it's inappropriate I can delete this, but has anybody got any thoughts on Yokohama Geolandars for a GX?
I've run 2 or 3 sets on my former vehicle, a 2013 Nissan Rogue, and they were simply fantastic.
We have a set of Sunny tires on our 98 Cavalier 4dr auto. (Used as summer only). Also a dedicated set of Cooper winter tires. As a summer only tire they have been fine for the last ~60,000km+ and the only reason for buying them is they were cheap, the car is old and getting pretty high in mileage. Wasn't sure how long it would last to be honest. It has surprised me and I figure the next set I buy will be a brand name all season for the summer only to have the car inevitably crap out shortly after.
I was not a fan of these tires in the snow. Never seemed to have an issue getting the car going, but did have the car oversteer and slide in the snow a few times.
