Tires YOKOHAMA or Vredestein
Great in rain, very good in moderate snow on my Alltrack.
I swapped my Conti original equip. for these and will buy them again for sure. Quiet and good in moderate amount of snow. Check TireRack for reviews. Nothing will be as good as a dedicated snow tire and I'm sure you know that. Good luck.
I replaced the Bridgestone that came on my Golf SEL wagon 225/40R18 Vredestein's Quatrac Pro. The handling is equal to the Bridgestone's and the ride and nose level is greatly improved. I haven't used in the snow but they are better than the Bridgestones in the rain. Plus they cheaper than many of the other tires.
my second set of 205 50 r16 Ascends are doing great at 176k on my similar 2015 EX. Love those tires.
I love my Geolandar's which came with the car. They do everything well. I do a lot of driving 10 to 40 mph over the speed limit. I would not hesitate to get them again. People always criticize whatever tires that came with their new cars but in this case not true.
Yokohoma Geolander X-AT. I've had them on a bunch of different vehicles.
I'm still running the geolandars on my wilderness. So far I love them no issues at all. Wprked great in the snow this winter and so far so good running them aired down on fire roads and some riverbeds etc. Not to mention quiet and smooth on road
Bought a separate set of winter wheels, sensors, and tires (Vredestein Wintrac Pro) from Tire Rack. Otherwise just regular maintenance. Driven over 65k miles so far, almost all of it chasing snow throughout New England.
With only a few hundred miles on them my experience has been very good with the Yokohama Advans. They are very nimble and have almost instant feedback when cornering, a big plus for me. Fairly quiet at highway speeds, and only slightly harsh.
I was not a fan of these tires in the snow. Never seemed to have an issue getting the car going, but did have the car oversteer and slide in the snow a few times.
