On my 2005 P2 cars (XC70 and S60R), after multiple issues with aftermarket windshields and rain sensor problems, a Volvo windshield was installed. This resolved the issues, leading the location to change policy to only use Volvo windshields for Volvos.

We told Safelite it had to be OEM/Volvo windshield due to the vehicle being a lease. We paid our $50 glass deductible and they replaced it with OEM as we requested. They also calibrated everything in house at their shop. Pretty smooth process!

I had one 2021 S60 until last month, great for travel, very comfortable, lots of space for two kids.
Only issue was the windshield, change 3 , one for year, talk to the mechanic and said it’s ok, I think the quality of the parts is not what it was.

I have a similar crack, xc40 recharge. It’s got a bit bigger now and no unfortunately not covered by warranty unless one has purchased the windscreen warranty for $2000 on top of extended warranty and some other warranty, tires perhaps or wheels can’t remember but I declined.

my 24 v60 windshield cracked twice in a span of first 11 months and 11k mile of ownership. My previous car, I had one chip in 11 years and 132k miles. I wonder if Volvo windshield is weak or I have bad luck.
