Mazda 6 Wagon Turbo Diesel.
I'm driving it into the ground ???? but loving every km I drive.
Brakes are the next job, I'm considering an upgrade to slotted rotors and better pads.
I put 220,000 miles on a Mazda six sport automatic transmission 2015 before my son wrecked it without doing anything except changing in the brakes and some steering parts and of course oil changes synthetic it had started to use a little oil between changes maybe a quart.
Firstly, thank god you’re getting rid of the stock Falkens, because they’re garbage. But as far as the brakes, it’s common. Mazda OE brakes are notoriously short lived. If you don’t want to be right back in the same boat in another 20,000 miles, put on a set of PowerStops or R1 Concepts and you’ll not have to worry about it again for a long time.

PowerStop...They’ve never given me a single issue and they last forever.
I put powerstops on mine a couple months ago and they’ve been great. Regular coated rotors, not drilled or slotted.
Akebono pads have a backing for the piston to press into which is what melted.
How about my 2021 Mazda 6 Grand Touring Reserve with a measly 14,000 miles and the dealer says the rear brakes are rusted and grooved with photo evidence.
Mazda. Brakes. Suck. I’ve owned 2 6s. A 2018 and a 2021. Both needed brakes at around 20k. DO NOT REPLACE WITH MAZDA OE BRAKES. Or you’ll just be in the same boat again. Buy a set of PowerStops and be done with it.
