Best Shock absorbers for Volkswagen Jetta
I made my own poor man's B12 kit! Except mine is now complete with badged housings and early top mounts. No bump stops in the front and vestigial foam stops in the back. I went mild on the cutting. The rears could go up a lot or down a little without cutting. Excited to see how she sits. Took some before measurements for what it's worth.
Just put in some new Bilsteins last week.
I am running MK3 springs and Bilstien HDs on my 85 Jetta. No rub issues with 185/70R14s.
Koni yellow shocks and struts, neuspeed lowering springs, and GLI front and rear discs w/ECS braided lines... the car rides and drives beautifully now!
Koni yellows were awesome in my GLI when I had them
Shocks/struts will go soon on this first.
The only part to go bad was the rear shocks at 56K.
I have Koni Red's on my Jetta, on the stock setting they come in they feel just a bit stiffer then the stock sport suspension that came on the car. I like them. After several years they are rusting a bit though.
They put on new oem Sachs shocks, which are too soft.
