Idle:

About 6 weeks ago I finally changed the spark plugs. So I put somewhere near 180,000 miles on a set of Autolite spark plugs. Two of the spark plugs the center electrode was completely gone. I don't know how the fuck the engine ran and I certainly don't know how it did not throw a code , it still ran very smoothly even at idle.

Pros: ran smoothly even idle

Cons: electrode was completely gone

I've used Autolite plugs in the 2.0's I've owned for over 20 years now because I think they work the best of the ones I've tried with this engine.

Pros: work the best, long-term use

I would also like to leave a comment here about having success with an autolite AR52 plug. Same exact thread size and identical reach as the OEM torch plug.

Autolite or Brisk plugs with stock gap.

I have a 05 with Edelbrock SC, 11 pounds of boost, and E85.

I replaced the spark plug with an Auto Lite spark plug. Engine light went away but still runs rough and misfire on acceleration.

Pros: Engine light went away

Cons: runs rough, misfire

Autolite plugs are junk. You’re better off leaving those 200k OEM plugs in it.
