Yup, these are great. Just be sure you gap them to APR's recommended gap of 0.024" ±0.002" or 0.6mm ±0.05mm. If you want 1 step colder plugs, not needed on your setup, but if you do for the future in Stage 2+. For 10$ more than the OEM NGK you can get the BERU.

I have the beru side firing and they work just fine.
I personally dislike HUCO brand which it had, I replaced mine with a BERU coil, still going strong since '97.
My coil is a Beru and pretty much brand new.
many thanks to this diy i just successfully replaced my unbranded made in italy POS coil with a brand new one from beru. gosh, as soon as i put that in and started the car it didnt start so rough. what a small but significant change, kudos and thanks!
The stock ignition coil on our Mk3 Jetta -- which we've had since it was new in 1996 -- just went out about two years ago. Typical crack causing the engine to die when going through puddles. I considered replacing it was an inexpensive Meyle coil. Decided against it, because while Meyle is a German company, their ignition coil is made in China, and I'd heard some bad things. Figuring the OEM VW coil really is over-priced, I finally decided on a Beru coil. It is made in Germany, and so far no problems.
I swapped out the oem plugs for Beru rs7 plugs when I went APR stage 2 at ~3k miles. The car ran well. Fast forward to the present with over 18k miles and is20 swap, and I noticed a few stumbles at idle. Nothing major but I figured I'd change them since APR recommends 10-15k mile intervals (visually the Beru plugs looked fine).
I had my old OE coilpack off, replaced with the new BERU unit. I had everything put back together, started her up, and she was running okay, but still far from perfect.
Has anyone ever experienced an odd electrical type humming sound eminating from the front of the dash after putting in a new ignition coil??? I put in a Beru Coil and I could swear I now hear a faint hum that wasn't there prior to installing the new one. It kind of sounds like the radio with the sound way low when it picks up engine frequencies (but I know it's not that). It definitely sounds electrical and not mechanical and I've noticed the hum increases in frequency when I increase the rpm's. Do coils even make any noise??? Thanks.
Bought new coil. Lucky to get good German Beru unit for little over $90...last of luck. Put in new coil, still no spark.
