Happens often. Lemforder control arms with VW badges grinded off is first what comes up in mind.

I used lemforder for my tie rods and I’ve had no issues after 5-10k miles.

reinstall was a breeze. Good choice with the lemforder bushings

Next, I used dish soap as a lubricant (I had purchased silicon spray but I was advised to use dish soap by many people and it really seemed better). Now, this part is a little weird because initially, the bushing didn't want to slide in, it kept popping out. I pushed really hard and still, it popped out. On 3rd trial, I wiggled it as I pushed it and it slid right in, didn't need to use a hammer or anything like that, it was really really easy.

The ball joints are somewhat new lemforder replacements but will be replaced with the control arm kit.
I replaced the boots on my steering rack last year and passenger side is already torn. In my search I found pictures of a boot that appears to be longer, problem is I can't find that specific boot. I order a Lemforder boot that showed the longer boot and even shows that image on the package but the boot inside appears to be the same as the one on the car that tore.
Cons: torn quickly, product discrepancy
I went ahead and upgraded to the 1M/M3 control arms (all 4 arms on the front were done). I finally got the car up to speed this morning and the issue is still just as bad as it was before I had the work done.
