Personally I run Lucas oil in mine, not just my current zzr600, but even my older vintage bikes when I had them. It isn’t crazy expensive and is high quality.

I have changed my fluid a few times, the first time was genuine Nissan brand CVT fluid. The next couple times was with Lucas CVT fluid! I personally had much better results with the Lucas CVT fluid over the Nissan brand fluid...it eliminated any shudder it had, smoothed out the acceleration, no more lag in-between shifting gears. It just overall seems like it's running more efficient and performing at optimal level!
I run Lucas in all 3 holes and my bike has been cooler, less noise and shifts smoother than it did when I got it and it had Harley fluids in it.
My old car was sitting for a year because my sister wanted to drive a bmw. Neglected it. Went to get it back yesterday and oil was under the dipstick, and engine knocked. I added Lucas oil some $18 additive, and filled rest up with oil, was only a half quart under the stick so it took a whole quart. Quieted by half almost immediately, drove 2 hours back home and engine is silent!!
When I was having really bad fuel consumption on my Corolla I put some of the Lucas with a full tank of gas and worked like a champ
Lots of naysayers regarding this. However I started using Lucas in my 1995 tacoma and it got rid of a rough idle, got. better gas mileage, and even got rid of p0300’s codes.
Right now I have some Lucas High Performance, but the brand is relatively immaterial to me. As long as it's a reputable brand and it meets the spec in the manual.
I run Lucas 5w40, it’s more about doing oil changes more often rather than anything else. VW doesn’t have any special materials in the block or heads, it’s just cast iron and aluminum no different than any other.
I got a Lucas alternator from euro car parts for about £250. This was just as well as the first Lucas kicked the bucket after 13 months ????
RX is garbage, use the lucas one
